I diagnosed this problem via the web and the advice was spot on. The problem was a failure of the bottom door switch. I used a multimeter to verify that the switched never closed properly. It took me a minute to figure out how to remove the old switch (press a release tab under the switch while simultaneously rotating counter-clockwise). Start bye removing the three screws that hold the underside of the microwave up. Once those are undone, the panel pivots down. You then need to un-attach the lights so the panel will totally come off and out of the way. The motor is plainly visible. Other than the indignity of having to buy a $28.00 bulb!! Installation required pulling the entire unit out of the wall and removing the sheet metal cabinet from around the microwave.
