I unplugged the fridge and took all the food and shelving out of the freezer and then proceeded to take off the bottom sliding drawer rack on both sides off (4 Phillips head screws). Then took off the light bulb cover and then the light bulb. Then the back wall that covers the coils and tubes that the refrigerant runs through ( 2 screws with hex head). It was after 11:00 at night a few nights ago, I couldn't sleep listening to the whining of the fan in the freezer, it was running and making noise sounding like waaoooww, waaaoww. My refrigerator is 13 yrs old and began to build up frost in the ice cube shoot and the water tube began to freeze up over night. The flapper door was not closing completely. I simply removed the control panel by pulling up and out on the bottom edge, the edge is only about 1/8 inch thick, so don't reach in to far. Used the schematic provided to select the parts needing replacement and placed the order. Parts arrived and swapping new for old was simple. For the most part it was a matter of taking out the old and putting in the new. There were a few screws with wheels to replace but that was easy as well. First, cleaned all the dirt and lint from the condenser radiator, the fan motor is in a metal housing holding the fan motor in place. look carefully and there is a sheet metal screw at the bottom of the housing, 1/4 inch screw head sheet metal screw. The indication was that when I tried to use the icemaker or water dispenser, the green LED on the front would dim and the ice maker dispenser wouldn't work. It was intermittent at first, but this indicated it may be a power management issue, in that insufficient voltage was getting to the ice dispenser motor. We replaced the main circuit board and the LED started to work and the condenser fan worked, but all we had were relay clicking sounds, but no cooling. The compressor had become so hot trying to work when the main circuit board was amiss, that it had popped the over temperature sensor on its side. After disconnecting power to the fridge, I first removed the ice maker/water dispenser/fridge control faceplate. This easily popped out using a flat head screw driver. Then disconnected the 3 wire harness connections to the control board. I next removed the plastic dispenser housing shield. There's only 4 screws that hold this on.
