After noticing a leak from the washer I got on YouTube and determined the likely cause was a bad drain pump. The repair looked easy enough, so I ordered a replacement part. Well.......the removal wasn't quite as easy as they showed on the video I watched. Supposed to slip right off after removing the retaining clips. Upon additional video reviews I saw that an old washer could have significant rust on the shaft onto which the pump is installed. And boy, did I have rust on my machine.
