Traps lint and debris during drying cycles to prevent exhaust clogs and maintain efficiency. Replace when torn, damaged, or not catching lint properly.
This was a Maytag DE312 actually a Whirlpool labeled as Maytag) and is 27 years old. Replaced motor, drive belt and drum rollers. One tricky part was the motor because the new motor comes with integral starter and it was necessary to cut off existing female spade connectors on some wires and crimp on new connectors. Fuel pickup filter draws gas from tank to carburetor. Replace if engine won't start or runs poorly due to clogged filter. Verify fit with your model number.
