Fix a starter rope that won't retract with this chainsaw rewind spring. Restores proper rope recoil function. Simple repair, basic tools required.
This is a starter rope that is used on many Echo chainsaws. The starter rope wraps around the starter pulley to allow a user to yank on the rope to get the engine to start. Regular use of the chainsaw can cause wear and tear on the starter rope, which can make the rope weaken or become frayed. If the starter rope isn't replaced, it will eventually break and no longer offer a way to start the chainsaw. If the user pulls on the starter rope and it pulls out in their hands, this is an indication that the rope has broken. Whether it's fully broken or just frayed, it should be replaced. Before starting the process, make sure to remove the spark plug wire and place the chainsaw on a stable surface. Remove the starter rope from its guide and take off the fuel tank and engine cover. Replace the rope and make sure it is wound before using the saw. This is a genuine OEM replacement starter rope that is directly sourced from the manufacturer. It is sold as an individual component. The starter rope is created to be compatible with a variety of chainsaws manufactured by Echo.
This part is discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available for purchase.
