This split lock 3/8 washer can be used in a variety of lawn and garden tools. It functions as a component that prevents nuts and bolts from loosening due to vibration when a tool is in use. It’s a split ring with a helical shape, and when fastened together, it exerts a force on the fastener for resistance to motion and increased friction. Typically, this washer is attached on the nut side of a fastener. Over time, the split lock 3/8 washer can start to wear, degrade, or fall apart.
