This is a control knob used on dryers, typically for the timer or cycle selector. It attaches to the timer shaft and allows you to select drying cycles and settings. Replace this knob if it is cracked, broken, or if the D-shaped mounting hole has worn out, causing the knob to spin freely without engaging the timer shaft.
If your dryer won't start or cycle buttons don't respond, the control panel may need replacement. This part houses the interface controls for models.
The Console Clip is an OEM part compatible with Whirlpool dryers. This clip secures the control console assembly to the top panel, ensuring it is firmly mounted during operation. Properly functioning clips are necessary to maintain the correct alignment of controls and prevent detachment.
Causes of a bad clip can include wear and fatigue from repeated opening and closing of the dryer door. Excessive force or impact could also bend or break the clip over time.
Symptoms of a bad clip include:
This OEM Whirlpool replacement clip is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.
Dryer not heating or won't stop running? A faulty timer may be the cause. This control switch manages cycle timing and functions. DIY repair.
This push-to-start switch initiates the dryer cycle when the start button is pressed. It sends a signal to the motor and control circuit to begin tumbling and heating. Replace this switch if pressing the start button produces no response, the dryer only runs while you hold the button down, or the switch feels loose or does not click when pressed.
This is a D-shaped knob insert or spring clip that fits inside a control knob and connects it to the control shaft on the dryer's front panel. It ensures the knob grips the shaft properly so you can turn the timer or selector. Replace this insert if your control knob spins freely without engaging the shaft or if the knob feels loose and won't stay in position.
This lint filter catches lint and debris during the drying cycle to maintain proper airflow through the dryer's exhaust system. A clogged or damaged filter restricts airflow, which forces longer dry times, increases energy costs, and creates a fire hazard from lint buildup in the vent system. Replace this filter if the pull handle is broken or cracked, the mesh is torn or separating from the frame, rust or metal flakes are visible on the screen, or lint is passing through instead of being trapped. The filter is white, measures approximately 20 inches long (excluding the handle) by 8.5 inches wide, and slides directly into the lint filter slot -- no tools needed, takes under a minute. Clean the filter before every load for best performance.
