My 30 year old whirlpool trash compactor roller bearings are "worn out"! L H. • Villa Grande , CA • January 17, 2015
Bot both sets of roller bearings, lower ones on the appliance and the set on the trash can that rolls out. I just followed the instructions that were in the roller bearing package and only needed the tools that are recommended. Was a little tricky with the nuts, really need a person with "small" fingers to reassemble the nuts back on the lower set of bearing that are on the appliance. All in All, went well and works. Received the part, and easily removed the two metal covers on the front of the trash compactor (total of eight small metal screws) to gain access to the backside of the roller assembly (locking nut). Used a socket wrench to unscrew the nut and removed the old assembly. The new assembly easily bolted into location, followed by reinstalling the metal covers. All in all, a quick and easy repair.
