Kenneth S Manhattan , IL April 05, 2019 Maytag refrigerator one front plastic roller (wheel) broke Watched the video on how to replace. Ordered new roller, which was delivered in just a couple of days. Since the roller had broke, I was unable to roll out the refrigerator, so I tilted the refrigerator back and placed a small furniture slider under the roller frame to prevent gouging the wood floor. Then it was easy to slide out the refrigerator and replaced the roller as explained on the video. I had ordered a pin and bolt, just in case I would need to replace, but didn't need them. Better to have them available at the time. Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers
Julie D Machesney Park , IL October 03, 2020 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer PAV2300AWW Slowly started going out of balance then rocked violently scraping up the top of the wash tub I watched the video on appliancepartspros.com on how to change the snubber ring. After that I wasn’t positive that was my problem or the springs. I decided to go with the ring because it looked like a bigger job than changing the springs. And on a 20 year old washing machine with heavy usage, I figured a plastic part was probably worn out. I was nervous when I got down to the snubber ring because it didn’t look very worn at all but I got it all back together and changed the belt also because again, 20 year old machine. It worked. The ring was the issue. Funny enough I got through about 8 loads and the springs suddenly weren’t strong enough to hold the tub upright when it was full of water and clothes. Had to drain it and put the clothes in another machine to spin dry. Ordered the spring set and that should be the last of it. In hindsight I should’ve ordered the springs and done both....after going out of whack for so long, adding the extra support back in from the new snubber ring and the springs had just been strained too much. Overall it was a moderately difficult job but certainly impossible without the walkthrough video. Those videos have helped me look like I know what I’m doing! Greg D Stratham , NH January 19, 2018 Appliance: Maytag Atlantis Washer MAV6200AWW Water leak out the bottom of the washer into the drop tray Took the entire washer apart. Secondary containment tub looked fine. Tested the pump by extending the suction line and putting it in an elevated container filled with water. Put the pump discharge into the container as well. Ran the washer on rinse and spin (opposite motor rotation) pump seemed to run fine and the transmission seemed to operate fine as well. Since water had collected in the base of the transmission, I figured the only thing left was the hub seal. 3 of the 4 bolts that hold the inner basket to the hub sheared during disassembly, so I order 4 new bolts and the new hub seal kit. Assembly was easy. Didn't have a spanner wrench, but made due with a pipe wrench. Since the new bolts that go into the hub were a little different (not sure they were self tapping), I used my one remaining original bolt to tap the hub. 3 washes so far and no more leaks. Hopefully get another 16 years out of the washer! Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Socket Set
