I watched the video on appliancepartspros.com on how to change the snubber ring. After that I wasn’t positive that was my problem or the springs. I decided to go with the ring because it looked like a bigger job than changing the springs. And on a 20 year old washing machine with heavy usage, I figured a plastic part was probably worn out. I was nervous when I got down to the snubber ring because it didn’t look very worn at all but I got it all back together and changed the belt also because again, 20 year old machine. It worked. The ring was the issue. Funny enough I got through about 8 loads and the springs suddenly weren’t strong enough to hold the tub upright when it was full of water and clothes. Had to drain it and put the clothes in another machine to spin dry. Ordered the spring set and that should be the last of it. In hindsight I should’ve ordered the springs and done both....after going out of whack for so long, adding the extra support back in from the new snubber ring and the springs had just been strained too much. Overall it was a moderately difficult job but certainly impossible without the walkthrough video. Those videos have helped me look like I know what I’m doing!
