Maytag Dishwasher (about 5 years old). Some of the buttons had stopped functioning. Then the Start button began choosing whether or not to work. Eventually it would not start at all. Upon removing the control panel, the first thing I noticed was that the brackets that hold the two lower screws were broken. (So this was the reason that the door was so hard to open from the time it was new.) I trouble shot the thermal fuse, the door-latch switches, and inspected the control board trying to find the problem. Everything looked perfect. When I pried the control panel apart with a putty knife, the buttons inside were shiny and new. But I did notice that the ribbon cable connecting the control panel to the control board had a straight line of brown discoloration across nearly all the trace wires, not visible before opening the control panel up. This discoloration could not be cleaned. The part number on this white control panel (both the old and new one) is W10199662. However, when ordering it online, you need to search for part # W10811153. I purchased this item from AppliancePartPros.com because they are the ONLY site that allows you to return electrical parts after installation. I didn't want to get stuck holding a perfectly good $140 part I didn't need just because I opened the box and plugged it in. They also charge NO re-stocking fees. I ordered it early on a Sunday morning. The part arrived Wednesday afternoon. Should it have turned out that I was wrong about which part I needed, I would have returned this part and just purchased a new dishwasher. But I was not wrong. Replacement time was very reasonable. Difficulty was between easy and moderate, just take your time and don't force anything. Dishwasher works better than new. Very satisfied customer.

A friends family had left her refrigerator out on a porch while they were remodeling the house she was supposed to move into. A wind storm blew the refrigerator off the porch and tore the door off. It wasn't dented at all, but when her son pu the door back on, it wouldn't seal. She asked for some help fixing it. I ordered replacement parts for the upper and lower hinge. The parts arrived quickly. I unscrewed the top hinge which was slightly bent. Set the door on its side and replaced the bent door stop and the broken Door Closure(this was the real cause of the problem). Put the door back on the bottom hinge and fastened the new top hinge in place. Like magic the door sealed like it should.

With help and information on your website, there were three parts that could possibly be causing the malfunction of my dishwasher… the control panel, thermal fuse, and/or door switches. This has been an awesome dishwasher that has never given us any problems, has a very fast wash cycle, is fairly quiet and gets the dishes very clean and dry. Even though it’s 11 years old, I want to keep it running as long as possible and financially feasible. For these reasons, I decided to get all three parts and do a process of elimination (although I was sure it was the control panel as my electrical troubleshooting told me). I figured in the least that if these were the three common parts that eventually go out, I would have them all replaced and get a few more years out of the dishwasher. Parts ordered Thursday, arrived Monday packaged very well. Installed new control panel, put everything back together and turned the power back on… nothing. That was surprising, though for sure it was the control panel. Disassembled and installed the thermal fuse. Reassembled, power back on and “bingo” all was working. Disassembled and installed the two door switches for good measure. Reassembled and have done several wash cycles… working perfectly! Ordered a new face panel and circuit board. The board had the buttons on it. Simply took the old parts off and replaced them with the new ones.

Using the parts I ordered all (my) repairs went well. Everything works again as new.
