I tested my thermostat at room temp- it showed no continuity - i ordered the part - came in a few days and replaced it and it worked. Michael J Florence , MS September 29, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer MDE9700AYW Dryer would not turn on but timer was working hugh temp thermostat and thermistor needed replacing I removed more parts than I had too once I received the wrong parts due to a pulling error at the warehouse. The reason for pulling more parts was because my fan had so much build up I cleaned the fan blades and fan housing along with the lint filter housing. I also applied silicon spray to the roller bearing since I had it open. General cleaning took a while but well worth it. Dryer was a fire hazard and well worth the extra time. Fan performs better. Once the correct parts came in it took 10 minutes to reassemble. The thermostat and thermistor were checked with an amp meter to locate the problem. Read More...
