Whirlpool R0706011 Assy, Hinge Right OEM Part

My son searched the internet for replacement hinges. Found them at Appliance Parts Pros.com. The stove is approximately 18 years old, so imagine my surprise! The parts were delivered 2 days after our order was placed...and arrived on Christmas Eve, in time for dinner. To install, he did have to purchase a single die/tappit thingie to make the screws work. He is so good at this stuff and whatever he did worked!! Guess what? I was able to bake a pineapple upsidedown cake for breakfast on Christmas morning and it turned out beautifully! Thank you Appliance Parts Pro. I will use your website again, if need be.

I removed the oven door and removed the right hinge assembly. I followed the directions and started to install the two screws that came with the new hinge. I then realized that the mounting bracket for the lower screw had not been threaded. I happened to have a screw tapping set with the right size tap. I put the hinge in the vice and threaded the lower bracket where the screw hole was located. Once I did that, I was able to put the screws in place and replace the oven door. The new hinge works great. I suggest you have quality control check to see that the hole is already threaded before shipping. The turn around time was fast. I had my new hinge three days after ordering it.

Bought a new hinge

Removed the door (it just slides up and off the hinges). Removed the old hinge. Unfortunately, as Kenneth noted, the lower screw hole in the replacement hinge was not threaded, which is necessary (a) to match the included machine screw and (b) because the metal at that end of the hinge is too thick for a sheet metal screw. I have a set of taps and was able to make the threads. The upper hole is also not threaded, but the metal is thinner at that end of the hinge, and so threads are not necessary for the included sheet metal screw. It takes a little finagling to get the new hinge into position. I had to get it mostly inserted into place, then open the hinge (pulling and holding against the spring) to get it fully inserted. Then just secure the new hinge with the two screws, and slide the door back onto the two hinges. This would be an "easy" fix if the bottom hole came properly threaded

Rivet on right hinge assembly was broken. Replaced the hinge. Took a hour. Mostly because the drawer on the bottom would not come out. Tipped the unit on its side and opened the drawer to the max. Took off the Oven door by lifting it up while partially open. took out the two screws holding in the hinge assembly. The assembly was missing screws so I tried to use the old screws. I should have pre assembled them to make sure the that the screws would thread properly. Had to remove the assembly and thread the screws, I got some self tapping screws to start the thread, then I used the original screws. Make sure you put the shortest one on the bottom, else the door will not complete close (don't ask how I know). It would have been very nice if the assembly included self tapping screws.
