Chauncey H Menan , ID October 05, 2014 Washing machine would not drain Washing machine pump failed with the washing machine full of water. Replacing a pump used to be a bear of a job with belts, pulleys, etc. but I thought that I should give it a look before I called the repairman. This one turned out to be a small discrete unit bolted to the bottom of the washer. I ordered the new pump, which came very quickly to my door. It was a ten minute job to replace it. One thing that I did that made the job much less of a mess was to use a wet vacuum on the drain hose and that sucked the tub dry in seconds. Save $120 on service calls, and at least on day of vacation waiting for the repairman. Marcus E Graham , WA October 31, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Washer NFW7200TW11 Nd/oe error I first received a ND error code, which was "Not Draining". I pulled the pump assembly out and found that a quarter had found its way into the pump housing and was lodged in the impellers of the pump. I hoped that removing the quarter would fix the problem, but a few wash cycles after putting it all back together, I received an OE or DE error, which indicated a draining error. The pump I ordered from AppliancePartsPros looked quite similar to the OEM pump; however, the inlet/outlet bell had a different bolt pattern for attaching it to the floor of the washer. Since the bell was removable, I swapped the bells from the old pump to the new. Removal/installation was easy: three bolts hold the pump to the floor, two screws hold the pump to a plate that fastens to the floor, one two-wire wiring harness, one screw holding a shroud that covers the heatsink of the motor, and two spring hose clamps. Take care when removing the mounting plate from the pump: there is a rubber vibration damper between the plate and the pump - be careful not to tear this when removing the two screws holding the pump to the plate. I would also suggest to vacuum any remaining water from the pump and hoses by sucking it through the waste hose before detaching the hoses from the pump. This will save you from having to sop up a few cups of water with a towel. If you can turn a wrench, this is an easy DIY fix. Jason G Saint Cloud , FL October 01, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Washer- Horizontal Axis MAH8700AWW Display read "nd" for no drain on washer Reading up on internet I figured out how to get washer into diagnostic mode. With water still in the tub it wouldn't provide an accurate answer so I sucked the water out with a shop vac. When running the test the washer would add water, spin, then just sit there. I could hear that something was humming so it seemed like the washer was trying to do something. After further reading I figured my control panel was good, the signal was getting to the pump and the pump had power, thus the humming noise, so I pulled the washer apart to get to the pump. I pulled it out to find a quarter had gotten into it. That was enough to make it go bad. I ordered a new pump and installed it back into washer. Now it is working great. 13 years old and now still going strong with a $100 fix.
