Beth K Belfair , WA January 07, 2018 Appliance: Model MAYTAG MAXIMA Broken dryer hinge I ordered the new hinge and the cap they said would be needed, took the door apart and installed new hinge. Only problem, wish they told me I needed 4 of the caps, for one hinge and each cap was 11.95 x 4...pretty spendy. Fortunately I was able to reuse 3 of my worn ones for now. Kimberly S Carrollton , TX December 22, 2023 Appliance: Model MAYTAG W10676166A The dryer door completely fell off. My dryer door was on it's last leg and last week it finally completely fell off. I had no clue what I was going to do. I have family coming in for the holidays and I NEED my washer/dryer to work. After looking at new dryers, which was just not an option at this time, I started researching how to actually fix the door because it looked like the hinge had broken off and to replace it may have been just the fix. I went to Youtube and found a guy who had the exact same dryer and issue with the door completely falling off. I watched the video, ordered the parts and then I fixed it myself! It wasn't the easiest thing putting it all back together. Be patient and take your time. I did buy 4 pin bushings, which I didn't need, I am keeping them, just in case. My washer uses the same hinge and bushings so I may be able to use this later! Not that it matters, but I'm a woman, who just likes to try to solve my own issues, and I did it! You can too!!!
