Ken P Royal Center , IN September 25, 2026 Appliance: Model MGD6000XWO Broken door hinge on maytag dryer Pretty simple actually placed folded towels on the counter to support front load door. Basically examined inner door panel to remove right screws (several) be careful on this step and go slow. Seperate the door halves, gently pry with screwdriver. Remove the hinge retainer bracket and broken pieces. Install the bushings on hinge, insert hinge in door pocket install retainer plate, re assemble the door and now your ready to install. Note, you can also replace door seal too, wish I would have had one. The door bracket has two ears that hold door in place, just line up push in and then push down, install 4 screws and that’s it! I ordered a hinge and a plate with the help of the Customer Service folks at AppliancePartsPros.com. The parts arrived, much to my surprise, the next day. My brother-in-law and I, mostly him, put the new parts on in less than 10 minutes. The washer is like new. Read More...
