Beth K Belfair , WA January 07, 2018 Appliance: Model MAYTAG MAXIMA Broken dryer hinge I ordered the new hinge and the cap they said would be needed, took the door apart and installed new hinge. Only problem, wish they told me I needed 4 of the caps, for one hinge and each cap was 11.95 x 4...pretty spendy. Fortunately I was able to reuse 3 of my worn ones for now. Thomas R Fort Washington , PA June 27, 2020 Appliance: Model MAYTAG MAXIMA MHW5000XW2 Washer door sagging, not shutting properly. (Maytag Maxima MHW5000XW2) Initially, I thought the problem was the plastic bushings so I ordered 4 new ones. When I took the door off, I discovered that the outer pins were broken off the cast aluminum door hinge. I then ordered the replacement hinge. It arrived the next day with the middle-class shipping rate. The fix went very well. I used the new plastic bushings and a new hinge. So the problem was fixed for less than $175. The plastic bushings seem way overpriced given the amount of plastic that is used but it's still cheaper than a new washer. I kept the old bushings as a potential replacement if needed. The videos provided by appliancepartspros.com were very helpful. The entire replacement took 30-40 minutes. Tip: make sure that you pay attention to where the different size screws go. I inadvertently mixed one and it took another 5-10 minutes to get it out of the larger hole and replace it with the proper size. Kimberly S Carrollton , TX December 22, 2023 Appliance: Model MAYTAG W10676166A The dryer door completely fell off. My dryer door was on it's last leg and last week it finally completely fell off. I had no clue what I was going to do. I have family coming in for the holidays and I NEED my washer/dryer to work. After looking at new dryers, which was just not an option at this time, I started researching how to actually fix the door because it looked like the hinge had broken off and to replace it may have been just the fix. I went to Youtube and found a guy who had the exact same dryer and issue with the door completely falling off. I watched the video, ordered the parts and then I fixed it myself! It wasn't the easiest thing putting it all back together. Be patient and take your time. I did buy 4 pin bushings, which I didn't need, I am keeping them, just in case. My washer uses the same hinge and bushings so I may be able to use this later! Not that it matters, but I'm a woman, who just likes to try to solve my own issues, and I did it! You can too!!!
