Jeremy L Calera , OK April 28, 2014 Bad capacitor I was actually getting an error code for the shifter and speed sensor. I ordered a shifter, which included the speed sensor, and replaced that part but the washer still didn't work. After doing some more research online, someone mentioned that the capacitor may be bad. After talking to my dad, who is an electrician, he said it sounded like my problem could very well be the capacitor. Knowing that we'd been without a washer for almost two weeks at this point, I went ahead and ordered the capacitor. It arrived two days after I ordered it (thanks for the prompt service!). I got it changed out and the washer now works. I'm happy I was finally able to make the repair and my wife is happy we don't have to go to the laundry-mat in town anymore! Mark V Hillsboro , OH July 28, 2020 Washer quit spinning and agitating dryer quit turning BOTH went out in the same day! I ordered my parts, watched the repair videos and had both appliances fixed in about half an hour. Use a putty knife to lift the top off of the dryer. (I even did it with my driver license as an experiment.) The washer, I just tipped back and leaned against the wall. 2 5/16 nuts for the drive cover, one for the capacitor and 2 phillips screws for the shift actuator. It actually took as long to do the calibration mode as it did to fix the washer. After the repair, you have to go into diagnostic mode then calibration mode if you replace the capacitor. 3 clicks right on the dial, 1 left, 1 right, all lights flash, then turn until rinse is on, then hit start. easy peasy. Pamela W Lake Villa , IL February 03, 2024 Appliance: Kenmore Washer 11021102011 Would not agitate only clockwise wound up clothing only agitated in delicate mode. After reading a blog about a similar problem, and talking to a tech that recommended I call a service, I ordered parts as did the blogger. Rest, calibrated several times, diagnosis' had no codes ( if anyone could figure that out) Removed the agitator and cleaned everything. Reinstalled it Took the lid lock off lid and inserted it into slot, that way you can have the lid open and see what is going on in there. Test run:: everything worked as should, like brand new. Only the thrust washer had very little wear on it but was dry. Even though the agitator parts were really not needed I changed them out anyway and used vasoline as my grease. About 15 minute job. Only the parts inside the agitator were replaced. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Socket Set
