Philip L Columbia , MD November 15, 2019 Appliance: Whirlpool LST8244BQ0 Whirlpool direct driver washer leak caused by basket drive shaft wear In reality, this turned into a full-on rebuild project - with several parts orders, not just a simple repair. But I have to give credit: The parts listings with pictures on the AppliancePartsPros web site were really useful in figuring out what was going on inside the machine, and what parts I would need. Also: The repair videos were critical for me to be able to ensure I was reassembling everything correctly. Shout out to Simon, who was featured in several of the repair videos. His "gorgeous wooden box" and his habit of setting a part aside "where the kids won't play with it" are really humorous late at night, when I'm trying to get things back together! This was a challenging repair - largely because my washer is 25 years old. But the reputation of the Whirlpool direct drive design convinced me it was worth the effort to bring it back to life. Getting the tub nut and block apart without damage is difficult on old machines. Douglas M Forsyth , MO October 27, 2015 Appliance: Model 110 20936 994 Wouldn't spin I watched a few on line videos. Found 2 easy things to check. The motor coupler then the clutch. It took me about 30 minutes to get everything apart and find out which problem it was. Went on line to Appliance Pros.com and ordered the new clutch. It came in 2 days. Took less than 30 minutes to get it on and get everything back together. It was awesome. Michael S Hammond , LA July 25, 2015 Washer wouldn't spin well Researched and found it was likely either the motor coupling or clutch. Ordered both. The coupling was significantly damaged and the clutch was only slightly worn. Went ahead and replaced both (while I had it disassembled, why not?). Works like a charm. Hundreds cheaper than a replacement. Read More... 6 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers, Socket Set

Laurence O O'fallon , IL November 03, 2018 Appliance: Maytag Commercial Washer MAT14PDAWW0 Sometimes it would spin other times it would not, agitated fine Replaced transmission (that was the problem) and clutch (if you're going to tear it down put in a new clutch - they're cheap). APPRO's video was a big help. Everything went as they showed except transmission does not just slide out. You have to work it in and out several times. Once it breaks free it will slip out. This was my first transmission. It was not nearly as hard as I had thought it would be.
