James C Meadville , PA August 04, 2014 Appliance: Kenmore Dishwasher 66513744K601 My dishwasher would not run on the led control panel lights only two out of all the lights/buttons would work I searched online for problems with that model. I found the appliance parts pros web site. It was the control board or the control panel. I ordered the control board. In 2 days it arrived and I put it in. That did not fix the problem. I then ordered the control panel. Again in 2 days it arrived and I installed it. That fixed it. I went online and printed out a return authorization for the control panel. I think the very liberal return policy of appliancepartspros is great! Read More... 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Hubert B Columbia , SC June 01, 2014 Our kenmore dishwasher no longer had any panel lights operating for the past 18 months only one cycle (normal wash0 would light up on the front panel I determined by discussing with the customer representative "Britney" that the problem was most likely the front control panel, and that it was relatively easy to replace. My main concern was if it did not fix the problem could I return the panel and I was assured it could be returned and I would receive a refund of my charge and that I could get help on determining what else it might be. I ordered the part (control Panel) I received the panel in 3 days , I looked at the old panel and was able to remove the old and install the new in about 7 minutes and now all our wash cycles and options are now working and it was very simple. I was looking at the cost of a comparable new dishwasher it would have been around $980 dollars the part cost me $136. Life is good, thanks appliancepartspros.com. I will definitely shop with you in the future!!!!! Read More... 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Frederick D Oakley , CA September 11, 2014 Appliance: Model 66513472K600 Panel would not light up and dishwasher would not cycle I installed a new front touch panel. It took less than 10 minutes and could not have been easier. Unplug or turn off breaker. Remove the top six torx screws holding the panel on, pop off the tabs holding the handle, cover and control board. Remove the electrical connector to the control board and connect the control board to the new panel. Snap everything back in, tighten the screws and power it back up! John F New York , NY July 16, 2014 Appliance: Kenmore Dishwasher 66513842K601 Some indicators did not light on the front panel Some of the indicators on the front of the dishwasher were no longer lighting up. This was an issue, as the status indicators were mostly broken, and most of the option indicators were broken. I.e. the heated dry button is a toggle, and since that indicator was not working there was no way to know if that option was turned on or off. The repair is quite simple - open the dishwasher, remove the screws on the inside of the dishwasher door corresponding to the panel, and gently pull it out. Once you do that, you have to remove the main circuit board cover, and unplug the harnesses from the main circuit board. Then the circuit board (which is a separate item from the control panel) can be removed. You then transfer the circuit board to the new panel, put the cover back on, and fit the control panel back onto the dishwasher. The panel hooks on the right side first, and then swings back in place. If you are at all comfortable with taking things apart and reassembling them, then this will be straightforward. If you are not, then this will be a little rough. The screws are torx - I forget the exact size. Don't forget to unplug the dishwasher! The plug to my dishwasher was buried too deeply, and I didn't want to slide out the unit, so I ended up just removing all the fuses for my apartment. In the end this was the longest portion of the repair, as I had to reset several clocks once I turned the power back on. Read More...
