Rey L Massapequa Park , NY January 08, 2018 Appliance: KitchenAid Undercounter Dishwasher KUDI01ILBL6 Dishwasher lights on but start button won't start To eliminate ordering parts that are working, I went to hardware store to get a multimeter to test and confirmed the continuity of the themal fuse and the door switches are working. Saw another reviewer post a similar problem and I went with the solution by replacing the panel-ctl. Ordered the part, replaced it after receiving the delivery package, turned the breaker back on, ran a test cycle, et voila, it works as new. Sidenote, to reset the dishwasher, I pushed " hi-temp dry, "energy saving", " hi-temp dry, "energy saving"," hi-temp dry, "energy saving", the control panel will run a diagnostic and all lights were on at one time which is normal. After it did its things and have reset, I wasn't able to select Heavy cycle. For the normal cycle, I had to trick it by pushing" hi-temp dry, "energy saving" first, then I was able to select normal cycle. All and all, the Start button just won't run the cycle. Billy B Athens , AL August 21, 2016 Appliance: Model KUDI01LBS5 Unable to start the cleaning cycle We paid the $100 service fee to find out that our control panel needed to be replaced and that would cost $280 plus maintenance charges. So my wife and I put in an order for a new dishwasher. While waiting to receive the new dishwasher I decided to at least attempt to change the control panel myself, worst case scenario, it doesn't fix it, and I can't return the part, but if it did fix it, then it would save me $650. Well needless to say it DID fix it, very simple (used directions that come with part and a couple YouTube videos). Saved $650 and cancelled the ordering of a new dishwasher. Definitely recommend trying this first! Read More... 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
