Ryan R Bedford , NH October 24, 2015 Appliance: Model 665.17032402 All the leds on the front panel were off and there was water sitting in the bottom of the dishwasher from the previous cycle it appears the power was off to the unit I first verified the house panel circuit breaker was not tripped. It wasn't so I removed the bottom kick plate of the unit, using a circuit cricket I verified the power feed to the unit was live. The bottom kick plate had a trouble shooting guide in a plastic sleeve which I opened and reviewed. Based on information in there it appeared the TOC was likely the issue. (We recently lost power and used a stand by generator. Previously when we did the the dishwasher had a blinking LED on the panel and the reset sequence resolved that but this time no LEDs.) The TOC is in line with the power into the unit and the unit is 9 years old so it seemed reasonable. I turned off the circuit breaker in the house panel, verified power to unit was off with my cricket and removed the front panel. This basically involved removing the top six torx head screws from the top of the door, the panel can then be suspended there with all the wires. Use a flat head screw driver to push the 3 tabs, one left side, two right side to remove black cover. The TOC is on the right side of the panel closest to you as you look at dishwasher, two black wires connect to it. Remove the two wires, used Digital Multimeter to measure impedance between the two blade contacts. The impedance measured high, indicating the TOC was broken. I ordered the fuse kit, and when it arrived I was only expecting the fuse (TOC) but there were also wires and clips. I pulled the wires off the fuse in the kit, using a small flat head screw driver I removed the TOC from the front panel, (insert flat head between the TOC and the front panel housing to gently pry TOC loose from left side and then the right side). Snap new TOC into same location, push two black (black w/ white stripe) onto the TOC blades. Put panel back together, turn circuit breaker back on and the unit was now functional again. I had taken this front panel apart at least a dozen times previously after power outage, before learning about the reset sequence and realizing the paper stashed in the plastic behind the kick plate was a trouble shooting guide. If you have not gone through the process of removing the panel and accessing the circuits inside before this job might take you 30+ min depending on your comfort level. Thomas S Oxford , OH September 12, 2014 Dishwasher dead Hoped it was a fuse but didn't know if dishwasher had a fuse. Entered model number into Appliance Parts Pro website and was presented with their wonderfully laid out parts explosion and sure enough, there was a fuse. Clicked on the fuse and OMG there was a video showing how to replace it. Without the video I probably would not have done it myself. Ordered the part, it arrived two days after I ordered it and replaced it just as was shown in the video. Michael G Treasure Island , FL October 20, 2014 No power/lights on the control panel Watched video. Mine has the stainless steel trim so I removed the torx crews around the inside liner of the door. I lifted the black control panel trim cover and removed the two wire attachments WITHOUT cutting the wires as suggested in the included instructions and the video. I unsnapped the old fuse and snapped in the new fuse. I then reattached the existing wire connectors. So I did not add the included wire harness and it works fine. The original one lasted 11 years. John B Jay , OK June 25, 2016 Appliance: KitchenAid Undercounter Dishwasher KUDS01DJSS0 Appeared as though there was no power all lights were out no reaction from any button The dishwasher is on a dedicated circuit so I tried cycling power at the circuit breaker. No change. Searching online I discovered the thermal fuse that is in the control panel, ahead of all the control panel components, so I assumed that was a good place to start. I shut off power to the dishwasher, removed the six screws that attach the control panel, and found the fuse in an easy to access location. I disconnected the leads to the fuse and checked continuity through the fuse. Sure enough the fuse was open. I ordered the new fuse from Appliance Parts Pro and it arrived quickly. It was easy to replace following the instructions that came with the new part. Total time to repair, including diagnosis, was less than half an hour. Dishwasher is now running well, but I'm watching for any indication of a problem that caused the fuse failure in the first place. Kelly S Leesville , SC February 02, 2015 Blown thermo fuse lost all power to control board No power to dishwasher control panel? Shut off power for dishwasher at main breaker. Opened the dishwasher door just enough to access and remove the crosstip screws which hold the plastic front cover and control panel (keypad) in place . Once the cover is loose the back of the control panel can be accessed. There is a plastic cover over the circuit board that must be unsnapped and removed. Once removed the blown Thermo Fuse can be removed and tested. Test it by using a test meter and conducting a continuity test. If there is no conductivity it is blown. Replace the Thermo Fuse with a new one and make sure you use the new leads (harness) supplied with it. Failure to use the new leads containing a length of new wires and connectors will lead to premature failure of the new Thermo Fuse. Put the plastic circuit board cover back in place, snaps on, and postion the front cover and keyboard in place and secure it with the crosstip screws you removed earlier. Turn power on at the main breaker and check to verify you have power to the dishwasher control panel (keypad). If you do, job done!
