Once all parts, surface elements, control switches, are loose from the original glass, I just moved all parts to the new glass. Due to the weight of the glass, all actions have to be done carefully as I broken one corner of the glass couple of years ago when I replaced one of the control switch. Alan G Hope Valley , RI April 18, 2017 Appliance: Model JEA8120AB Surface element no longer working The biggest concern I had was that the new element had 4 prongs instead of the 2 which was on my old one. After talking with Customer Service they gave me a pretty good idea of which contacts I needed to set up with the old element wire leads. I ended up attaching to the larger 2 prongs which were on the left side. The repair was a success and was very easy. Kudos to Customer Service because they assisted me on the phone for over 25 minutes making sure I had the correct part and attaching it correctly. The element I replaced was the 8" one. Neessary to remove glass top to do so. With help provided by this company this was something a 10 year old could do. Especially since the updated element wiring was slightly different from the original.
