Paul B Glenelg , MD April 20, 2014 Appliance: Maytag 36" Electric Built-In Ceran Cooktop JEC0536ADB12 Jenn air dual burner element failed When the burner failed to come on, I was not sure if it was the burner or the control unit. After doing some research on line, I learned how to test both components. Removing an disassembling the cook top was easy. I quickly identified that the burner failed. Testing it will a multi-meter showed a break in the burner element. I then checked on line for a replacement burner element. The prices ranged greatly, by more than $50. I ordered from ApplicancePartsPros.com. The burner element arrived very quickly - much faster than I expected; less than 48 hours from when I ordered. To repair the unit, I removed it again and replaced the burner element. The new one was (very) slightly different than the old one, but it was easy to see the change. Once reassembled and r-re-installed, the new element works much better than the original. It get hot almost instantly and is hotter. Overall, very easy to do. I was also very impressed with AppliancePartsPros.com. Read More... 7 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers
Claude K Cape Coral , FL January 05, 2016 Dual element on jennair cooktop not working Before ordering the part I opened the cooktop and checked all the connection. Everything looked ok, but there was some discouloration on one of the sensors. I wasn't sure if it's just the sensor or probably a burnt heating coil. Since the Dual Element comes complete with all the sensors I ordered it. Arrived within 48 hours. Replaced it - a 20 minute job, perfect match - works like new again. Tom Q Scottsdale , AZ April 02, 2017 Dual burner would not heat up Found the part and ordered from ApplianceParts Pros. Replacing the burner was easy after I removed the cooktop from the counter. Just make sure that you pay attention to where all the wires disconnect and then reconnect. I took a picture of it before I disconnected anything just in case. Richard M Raynham , MA November 27, 2015 Appliance: Maytag 30" Electric Built-In Ceran Cooktop JEC0530ADS13 Dual element stopped working Thought it might at first be the control station, but noticed that after shutting the breaker on and off that I could turn the burner on low and it took a little while before it latched off. Ordered the replacement Dual Element. It was real easy to swap out. The only tools were a Phillips to loosen the clamp on the feed to the cooktop and a 1/4" nut driver for the bolts. Just one size everywhere, just a lot of them. Note: on the replacement burner there are no holes just the numbered positions. The two clamps which hold the burner to the glass use self taping screws. Just center the screw in the same numbered positions and they easily tap themselves into the new part.
