After taking the two vegetable drawers out from above, the glass shelf, the pantry drawer and the cross support for the glass, you can get to the two recessed hex head screws holding the end cap. You will need to transfer the metal drawer slide to the new cap, but it doesn't need to come off first. When the end cap is loose, gently rotate it toward the front. Once the humidity control slide is at 90 degrees from the back of the refrigerator, the tab holding it in place will slip out easily. Once outside the refrigerator, the slide needs to be disassembled in order: 1) on the back side, you will see a small bump. This is just to keep it from falling out. Pull the slide out so the bump clears the unit. Then you can unsnap the main humidity housing so you can put it on the new cap 2) rotate the slide so the tab holding it around the corner to the next piece disengages. 3) slip the slide from under tabs on the end cap, and rotate it so the next tab clears the control slide that is on the outside front of the end cap. 4) gently spring the snap on the control slide so you can snap it into the new cap. 5) detach the metal drawer slide and reattach it to the new cap. There are two screws - one at the back end and one toward the front that you can get to by pulling the movable portion of the slide forward, so the access hole lines up with the screw. Transfer the reused parts and reverse the order putting the slide components back, around the corner, and push the humidity slide into the back housing so the bump goes back over the spot that retains it. Reinstall by having the humidity slide at 90 degrees again, engage the tab and gently rotate the end cap assembly back in place. Put the two screws back and all the shelving. It took longer to write this than to do it. The hinge pin on the new end cap is a better design with more plastic ribs for strength.

I replaced the end cap that had the broken hinge tab. The main challenge was finding a narrow 1/4" socket that could fit the bolt holes of the end cap. Also, it is important to note how the drawer temperature control assembly that is attached to the end cap connects to the back of the refrigerator - taking a few digital photos of the assembly before taking everything apart was helpful.

Removing the old end cap and track assembly was easy. All you need is a 1/4 inch nut driver. Removing the humidity control assembly was another matter. It is fastened to the end cap by plastic clips. To remove it, you need to disengage the clips, starting from the rear of the humidity control assembly. When you work your way to the front, you need to lift the assembly and twist it over the slide assembly in order to disengage it. (The person who designed this is still laughing.) To apply the humidity control assembly to the new end cap, you do these steps in reverse order. Once this is done, attaching the new end cap to the refrigerator is simple. The entire project should take about five minutes, once you figure out how to get the humidity control assembly disengaged.

Repair 20-25 minutes total. remove all three pantry drawers, glass shelf, metal cross brackets front and rear. Then remove bottom pantry metal right wrap around rail with screw driver then tilt to left not to damage rear connector pin. Use hex nut driver to remove broken "End Cap Pantry right side". Replace with new End Cap Pantry and put back everything in reverse order. Sounds harder than it is.

I replaced the right side end cap. It took about 15 minutes - including the time to unload and reload a small part of the food contents. The only tool required was a .25 inch nut driver. Simply remove the old end cap by carefully pulling it away from the side wall. It has a piece attached to it that runs across the back wall of the refrigerator. By carefully rotating the whole assembly outward around the back wall center point of attachment, it all came out easily. Once out, you can then remove parts from the old end cap and install them on the replacement end cap. Installation is the reverse of removal. Very easy if you just think through where points of attachment exist and don't force anything.
