John H Germantown , WI February 05, 2019 Appliance: KitchenAid Dishwasher KDTM354ESS1 Grinding noises followed by a 'hum' and no water being moved Dishwasher needed to be disconnected from power and water supplies, removed from the cabinet and placed on it's back to gain free access to the underside of the unit. The motor-pump unit removed ( just three screws and two wire connections ). Once the motor unit is removed, the filter-pump part 'rests' on the end of this unit and just lifts off. The new part is put in place and the motor is re-attached, minding to make the metal support arm goes back inside the rubberized carrying slot and the water seal completely surrounds and supports the area of the motor-pump assembly. If needing the part sooner, it would be worth paying for overnight or 2-day shipping perhaps. The first step up from basic shipping did nothing to expedite the part for the extra amount. Fed-Ex still took 4-5 days to move the part 700 miles from the warehouse to my door. Moses B Somerville , MA November 13, 2021 Appliance: KitchenAid Dishwasher KDTM354ESS2 Broken filter on pump. Uninstalled the dishwasher and turned it on its back. Removed 3 screws and some wires to disassemble part of the circulation pump and replace the filter. Put everything back together So far everything is working. Much better than throwing the entire appliance away.
