Bob H Del Mar , CA January 31, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Gas Dryer MDG3000AWW Dryer was not heating I checked repair videos on line. Put in my brand and model. You tube had a video how to dis assemble my model. Video made it really easy, I would never have figured it out. Now checked videos from Appliance Parts Pros to troubleshoot the fix. Checked all thermostats and fuses with ohm meter they checked out perfect. Finally checked the igniter found out I did not have resistance. I was also concerned I may need new coils (solenoids). In visiting with customer service he explained replacing the igniter should solve the problem as the coils were controlled by the igniter. I ordered the part it was delivered the next day regular freight. Easily installed the igniter and it glowed right away but the dryer still did not light. I thought time to order the coils. However, I went back to check list and checked the gas line, sure enough in re installing it it was blocked by the old pipe joint cement I used. Once I cleared both ends the dryer ignited and I have one happy wife. To be honest I am pretty proud of myself. All videos were excellent and a major help. Thank you Appliance Parts Pros for your excellent customer service and speedy delivery. Only spent $22 total. Local part store wanted $35 + and I didn't have to drive there. Not sure what it would have cost me through and appliance repair service. This is the third time I have used Appliance Parts Pros and I have been satisfied on every occasion. Once they referred me to a wrong part number for a replacement refrigerator door shelf. When I received it i called Customer Service and they immediately sent me the correct door shelf. Can't get any better than that. Kirk P Des Moines , IA October 10, 2014 Appliance: Model MAYTAG DG412 First look 2nd look 3rd look success!!!!! When I first looked at my dryer I thought it was my ignitor, on a closer look I found that about an inch of my burner assembly arm was laying in a corroded mess on the bottom pan of my dryer. I came online and found your website. After reviewing your parts I thought well I can probably get those local and with competive pricing. Wrong!! There are 3 appliance parts stores withing about 3 miles and I checked them all. Higher prices by 25-35% and longer wait times than your advertised delivery times. Came home and ordered my part on Saturday night, parts were shipped on Monday am at my door on Tues afternoon. Very easy install much easier than your video my dryer is 30 years old. Every repairman who has been here has said this model is simple and very long lasting worth repairing. Problem tube did not solve the problem and I shattered my brand new ignitor when it dropped about 1/4 inch on the arm to the top of the dryer..my old ignitor looked good so on it went. Since my problem was not resolved I stewed and came on and talked online to first Danny who walked me through testing my sensors and when they came up reading ok Brent brought up the gas coils as the probable cause and I ordered them. I also told Brent about my igniter issue and after getting some additional info another was on its way and 1 day later in my hands. My older dryer version I popped the front laid on the floor reached in and had the coils replaced and the dryer running 15 minutes later. Guys are great..they make this work for a novice like myself. prices and delivery make it a winning combination. The appliance people could probably take some lessons. Keep up the good work and Thanks. Oh yeah no service call so my parts delivery was less than a call!! Scott F Dallas , TX July 28, 2015 Gas would not ignite in clothes dryer I used Google - of course! 1) Found a site that told me how to take the face panel off of our "Atlantis" series, sloped-front Maytag dryer. 2) Found another site that gave an excellent breakdown and explanation of the ins-and-outs of burner units - regardless of Make and Model, because they are all basically one of two fundamental designs. (Eventually I found a site with a Maytag, PDF manual for the dryer and I downloaded it -- so now I have it for future reference, as well.) 3) Followed the web site's directions and determined that the igniter had an "open" in it and was therefore the source of the problem. Also confirmed that when the dryer was running, 120 volts were being supplied to the igniter unit, which further indicated that it was the problem. 4) Removed the failed part and indeed it had a physical break in it that was visible. 5) Found AppliancePartsPros.com and ordered the igniter about 2:45 pm on Friday and it arrived on Sat. afternoon, within 24 to 26 hours of placing my order! Outstanding! (Order #5674031) Your price plus the shipping was less than the nominal "street price" and I did not have call around to find it and then drive to pick it up. (My time is worth a fair amount to my employer, so I've started figuring that into the cost of my home repairs.) 6) I installed the unit Sunday morning, before anyone else got out of bed! Worked like a champ. 7) Total elapsed time with all of the research and getting the cover off the FIRST time; testing the part in place; and replacing it was probably over two hours. Actually putting the part in on Sunday morning represented only about 15 - 20 minutes of that total. That was the easy part of the job... PS: I've been doing electrical work since I was in high school...and keeping my dryers "alive" for many years. As a result, I have a good understanding of such things and I have no shortage of tools including a decent meter for checking continuity and voltage. Oh yes... I've already shared your web site address with our son and I've told at least two colleagues at work about it. David J San Francisco , CA November 23, 2019 Appliance: Maytag Stacked Laundry- Gas LSG7804AAE There was no heat AppliancePartsPros.com made it very easy. I'm somewhat technically inclined and not afraid of opening up and tinkering with electric devices, but I never imagined myself fixing a Maytag gas dryer. Mine was not producing heat, and the AppliancePartsPros.com site had one diagnosis for this problem: failed gas valve solenoid coils. So I ordered the part and watched the video on how to replace it. The video was easy to follow, and what I saw in the video matched what I saw in my dryer (except that the video was for the side-by-side model and I have the stacked model, so there were some differences, and there wasn't a video for stacked models, so I had to figure out a few things, which wasn't too hard). The part came quickly, and I made the repair. The instructions were helpful so it wasn't too difficult. Unfortunately, the dryer still didn't produce heat. I decided that this meant I'd replaced a working part and that there was some other part that had failed that AppliancePartsPros.com didn't diagnose. Digging deeper, I found two other parts that could be responsible for no heat: the electric igniter, and an ignition sensor. I looked up both parts on AppliancePartsPros.com, and they were pretty inexpensive so I ordered both, just in case. To my amazement, the parts came the very next day. I found two more videos on AppliancePartsPros.com for replacing those two parts, and the job was very easy. The result? My dryer now works perfectly again. And now 3 old parts are replaced with new ones, and I anticipate this may add years of service life to the dryer. My only comment about AppliancePartsPros.com: Since there are 3 separate parts that if failed could cause the dryer to not produce heat, they should have listed all of those parts, and not just one of them. That would have made it easier for me to fix it with one parts order instead of two, and get it done faster. All in all, I will turn to AppliancePartsPros.com in the future for other repairs. I think the site works really well to help pretty much anybody willing to try fixing their own appliances. Christopher P Los Angeles , CA October 04, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Stacked Laundry- Gas LSG7806AAE Maytag gas dryer was not heating Did some dryer repair research (dryer not heating) on the internet. Bought an ohm meter, opened up the dryer and tested the cut-off-T, high limit thermostat, dryer igniter, flame sensor, cycling thermostat for continuity. The igniter was bad, the other parts tested ok. Went online to AppliancePartsPros.com searched for a new igniter for my specific dryer model, found the right replacement igniter and watched the video on how to replace the igniter. Because my dryer is old (15+ years) and I prefer not to experience the hassle of replacing failing parts every year so I purchased the new igniter and several additional parts (and the parts are inexpensive). Installed all of the new parts as shown on the repair videos on AppliancePartsPros.com and the dryer is now heating up as designed. Thank you AppliancePartsPros.com.
