Ruth M Brooklyn , NY May 10, 2016 Appliance: KitchenAid Undercounter Dishwasher KUDS01FLSS2 The start button would not work 1. Turn off the electricity to the dishwasher 2. Unscrew all of the screws on the inside of the dishwasher door. 3. Take off the door and put it aside 4. Loosen the panel that contains the control board, control panel and the door lock mechanism 5. Using a screw driver, push in the small moveable tab in the center of the plastic clip that is holding the control board to the plastic panel. 6. Unhook the ribbon that is attached to the bad control board. 7. Attach the ribbon to the new control board 8. Snap the control board in place carefully lining up the buttons on the control board with the holes in which they go on the plastic panel. 9. Put the door back on. Line is up carefully and put in the top screws first to anchor while you put in the sides ones. The rest fall into place. As a cautionary tale do NOT do the following. (I did and was very sad and mad) 1. Do not throw away the old board with the ribbon attached. I had already thrown out the old and had to spend an additional $50 for a new ribbon. Grrrrrrr 2. Do not get confused about how to remove the old board. I happened to be replacing the black panel that houses the control panel, control board and locking mechanism also because the buttons were cracked but I could not figure out that the little plastic tabs in the center of the clip that holds the boards in place moves easily. Instead I used pliers on the old board to try to move the whole tab. It did not work and almost broke the clip off. I spent way too much time and effort trying to figure it out only to find that the little tabs move very easily when you press them the right way. The screwdriver I used was this little star shaped thing. I din't know what it is called. William H Mount Pleasant , SC June 13, 2015 Appliance: KitchenAid Undercounter Dishwasher KUDS01FLSS1 Lights on control panel but would not start Replaced control panel and ribbon cable. Worked for half a cycle and then power went dead. Further trouble shooting led me to possible fuse failure since I had power to fuse but not to door switch. Replaced fuse and now working perfectly. I'm sure fuse had nothing to do with replacing other parts. It just happened to go bad at that time Read More... 8 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Peter B Sunset Beach , NC September 23, 2017 Appliance: KitchenAid Undercounter Dishwasher KUDS01FLSS6 Lights on the dishwasher buttons would not stop blinking and it would not run After chatting with your Customer Service people, I bought the Control Panel because the button covers had worn through and the User Interface board that actually contained the control buttons. I replaced both and the washer works great. The videos were helpful, but were not of the same model as mine, so I went slowly when taking the door apart. Replacing the 2 parts was very easy.
