Raymond M Mundelein , IL February 09, 2016 Appliance: KitchenAid Electric Wall Oven KEBS208DBL8 Heat loss due to old worn door gasket door insulation damaged Replacing the Door Gasket is very easy and will take about 2-3 mins per door. Simply remove the Gasket Retainer (1 screw), and pull off the old Gasket. Install the new gasket by simply pushing the gasket clips into the holes where the old clips came out from. Be sure to start gasket at the first hole either side of the Gasket Retainer and work your way around. Reinstall Gasket retainer. The Door Insulation is a very involved repair, and best to follow specific repair manual instructions. Door removal from oven is required. To remove door you need to order the Door Hinge Pins. Estimate about 15 mins per door plus time to clean all 3 glass panels prior to reassembly. You may find the service manual for your appliance at http://www.allrepairmanuals.com. Jeffrey R Davis , CA February 25, 2017 Bottom door on kitchenaid oven would not close tightly; oven light always on After reading several stories, I decided to install new hinges. The only trick was aligning the new hinges with the holes in the door and getting the sheet metal screws to bite. Otherwise a pretty easy job. This did the trick; the door now closes tightly. I did not see any bend or obvious defect in the original hinges. However, I noticed that the tension from the springs is much stronger on the new hinges/bottom door than on the old hinges in the top door. Might have to replace the top door hinges, too. Tim M Woodland , CA November 03, 2017 Appliance: KitchenAid 30" Built-In Electric Double Oven Thermal Convection Lower Microwave Convection KEHC309JSS06 Door won't close all the way light stays on. It was NOT the hinge springs! It was the receiver that the hinge slides into!! Order the hinge receivers also. It takes awhile to remove the front frame. When they are removed, compare them to the new receiver and you can BARELY see they are deformed. After installation, the door shuts tight! The flat vent tube above the frame has a tab that needs to be slid out of a slot.
