Robert G Wentzville , MO June 17, 2015 Teeth stripped from gear in transmission The parts I purchased from Appliance Parts Pro fit perfectly and were reasonably priced. I received them the next day, which made the Wife (and me) very happy. Although Appliance Parts Pro did not have a repair video for this, I was able to find one online and the machine is washing like new again. The website is well laid out and easy to find what your looking for. Between the available parts and the videos they provide, anyone who is reasonably handy should be able to repair their machine as well. Bob Wentzville, Mo. Duane G Saint Martinville , LA January 14, 2015 Washer was leaking water and oil made a huge mess under the machine Found a crack in the outer tub and transmission oil everywhere. Replaced the outer tub. Toughest part was getting the spanner nut off to pull out the inner tub. Had to use a hammer and short flat blade screwdriver (turn the screw driver so the blade is parallel to the bottom of the tub). Pulled the transmission. Used gasket sealer from auto repair place and oil from Appliance Pros. Still have a small leak in the transmission, but it's cheaper than a new one, and a drip pan will handle the mess. Devin R Clayton , NC May 04, 2021 Appliance: Roper Washer RTW4440VQ1 Leaking blackened water. We initially thought the issue was the gasket at the base of the tub, but that ended up being okay. We replaced it just in case. In order to even get the agitator off, we had to drill through the agitator bolt. The thing had completely rusted through. inside that basket drive rod we could see that the seals were in poor shape, and the liquid sprayed at the top of the shaft was getting through. We assume this was how the water was getting dirty. We replaced both shaft seals (which meant also replacing the oil in the transmission), the upper transmission shaft seal, the tub gasket (just in case), and the agitator bolt we had to drill through. I recommend buying several of the shaft seals and upper transmission shaft seals- the fit is tight and they're very easy to damage. Double-check the shaft before you try to put them in too- our shaft had some damage and the gouges inside the shaft were keeping the seals from seating properly. We were able to use a razor blade to scrap it clean enough to go in.
