Tracy M Fullerton , CA May 18, 2015 Grill vent fell off The grill vent is held on at only two plastic tabs by screws. Its' breaking, and resulting unsightly gaping vent opening is apparently very common. I first bought the replacement from the big online retailer going by the picture of the microwave.... Don't do that! So, when it didn't fit, I went to this site entered in the model number and was given the choice of original stainless, or for less than half price, shiny black. The black looks great (Since I'm anticipating future failures). Project time: 3 minutes and a screwdriver. David D Parker , CO June 02, 2016 Appliance: KitchenAid Microwave Hood Combination 1.8 Cu. Ft. KHMS1850SBL1 Broken tabs on grill vent portion of microwave/cooktop hood Part arrived sooner than I would have expected. Unfortunately, it was bent. Called customer service and they had a replacement out that same day. Part fit perfectly and color (black) was a perfect match. Installation of replacement part involved nothing more than two phillips screws. I'd order from these folks again. Renee W Long Beach , CA March 19, 2016 Overhead mw grill vent fell off Word of advice, KEEP YOUR OLD SCREWS. This did not come with the 2 screws necessary to do the repair. I bought the part from AppliancePartsPros.com and it got here quickly. Took me all of 2 minutes to fix. I had my little stepstool and a Philips head and it's all done.I have the stainless MW but didn't feel like paying the $60 something for that since everyone says this is going to break again anyway so I went with the black and it looks great with the stainless since there's black on the front of the MW anyway.
