Chris P Victor , NY August 15, 2015 Appliance: Model LDE 612 MAYTAG DRYER Our 35 year old maytag dryer stopped heating I ordered all the parts necessary to replace the heating element and thermostat on a Sunday night. Appliance Parts Pros shipped on Monday AM and I received them on Wednesday. It took me 45 minutes to disassemble the dryer, replace the parts and have the dryer working again. It should be good for another 35 years which should cover me for my needs. Thanks again to Appliance Parts Pros for having the best service and always the correct parts. I am a huge fan of your company as you never disappoint me with poor service or incorrect parts. Arden L Mohnton , PA August 16, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer DE412 The heating element was broken I ordered the heating element unit which included the the heating element already wired inside of the metal tube. I took out the old heating element unit and reinstalled the new one. I also tested the heating element for conductivity like you suggested to determine why my dryer wasn't heating. The hardest part was to get the metal tube to slide into the opening in the rear of the dryer due to the shape of the metal tube. It took some time and effort to reshape the tube to fit the opening. Alice J Fresno , CA January 24, 2018 Appliance: Model ADE8060 Got hot on top even if not running then would no longer heat. I found good videos on this website that gave me the confidence to swap out the Heater Assembly. Excellent videos. I also swapped out the Hi-Limit Thermostat that resides on the Heater Assembly although I think the old one was fine because it had continuity. But I had purchased it so replaced it. Thank you for this website!! Read More... 4 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
Patrick D Kokomo , IN August 18, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer LDE410 My dryer cycled properly but wouldn't heat The Maytag washers and dryers with removable front panels having 2 screws at the bottom and clips at the top make it easy to access internal components. The heater had 2 push on individual wire connectors. In addition, there were 2 sensors that had similar connections. The heater assembly was held in by a screw at the back and another at the front. The sensors had to be removed from the old heater assembly and transferred to the new one. The more difficult part of the repair consisted of pushing the heater assembly tube into the duct at the rear of the dryer. It was a tight fit and required some coaxing to get it to fit. The remainder of the assembly just required screwing in the heater assembly in front and back, attaching the 6 wire connectors and re-installing the front panel.
