David D Rock Creek , OH November 18, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer LDE412 No heat in my maytag dryer lde412 I took off the front cover and checked the sensors which were all good. Then I removed the cover for the heating coil after finding that it appeared open. Found that the coil had in fact broken but the break was not visible just by looking in. Located the break in the coil within an insulator near the back. I checked appliance stores locally and found the coil for far more than Appliance Parts Pros wanted for it. I placed an order after chatting with a tech, I placed and order and had it in hand in a day and a half. I have used APP.com before and have always had great service and fast shipping. I will definitely use APP.com for all of my future parts purchases. Thanks APP.com!! Joseph H Fremont , OH December 22, 2015 Appliance: Model MAYTAG DE 712 Heater element coil broken in two about the middle of coil I disassembled heater assembly and inspected unit. Ordered heater element. Installing the coil I noticed the insulator where the element bolt on was broken. I ordered and replaced insulator. I then tested the element to insure it didn't have continuity to the shield of the heater. Then tested to make sure there was continuity from one side mount post to the other. Thank you for selling these parts separately I saved a lot. Gary S Burke , VA August 31, 2020 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer LDE612 No heat from the dryer. My first thought was the heater coil. Since Appliance Parts Pros is my go-to for parts I ordered a heating coil, a high temp thermostat, and a fuse with examining first. When I opened it up I found one lead to the coil was burnt off and the other showed sign of heat at the terminal. I theorize that over the 35 years of use corrosion occurred at the crimp-on terminals going to the heating coil. As the corrosion increased the resistance at the terminals increased until it melted off one terminal and the other show sign of excessive heat. I replaced both terminal connectors with new well-crimped connectors and silver soldered for extra assurance. Should last another 35 years.
