Description
The Icemaker Kit is an OEM part compatible with Whirlpool refrigerators. The icemaker kit includes all of the components necessary to produce ice within the freezer. It is designed to fit within the refrigerator's ice maker assembly and functions by filling modular ice trays with water which then freeze into individual ice cubes.
Symptoms of a bad icemaker kit include:
- Icemaker not producing ice at all or producing an insufficient amount
- Ice cubes joining together or being malformed
- Drips or leaks from the icemaker area
- Louder than normal noises emanating from the icemaker
Causes of failure can include damage or wear to internal components over multiple fill and freeze cycles. Regular mineral buildup from water can also cause issues.
