After reading information on Appliance Parts Pros website a couple of DIYers had a similar problem. I knew the water solenoid was good because I tested it with a meter. The icemaker did not start when I tried a manual start and the water filter assembly made a grinding sound occasionally when I tried to get water from the door. My symptoms matched those of others, so I watched the videos on their site and although I really was apprehensive about replacing the water head filter and water tank assembly, I chose to take a chance on my skill set. The video gave step by step instructions to follow and although it took me about 3 hours to replace both parts the refrigerator works like it's brand new. The majority of the time I spent was taking most everything our of the refrigerator to be able to access the back panel inside. Appliance Parts Pros is a terrific resource for discounted parts and step by step videos to fix appliances.
