William D Cincinnati , OH August 20, 2015 Appliance: Whirlpool Microwave Hood Combo GH6177XPB3 Whilrpool g2 microwave buzzed on startup for a few weeks then the 1100w inverter board burned out entirely creating a burning smell gave f5 error afterward I found an online service manual for a similar model and followed it. Although the 1100W inverter board looks like it should slide right out the side (once you've removed the cover), you must attack it from the front, removing the control panel, cooling fan, and the plastic divider that the smaller 40W inverter is mounted on. It took a couple hours and wasn't too difficult once I found the service manual.
