I found an online service manual for a similar model and followed it. Although the 1100W inverter board looks like it should slide right out the side (once you've removed the cover), you must attack it from the front, removing the control panel, cooling fan, and the plastic divider that the smaller 40W inverter is mounted on.
It took a couple hours and wasn't too difficult once I found the service manual.
