Richard H Owasso , OK October 14, 2019 Appliance: Kenmore Refrigerator 59672383411 Bottom freezer froze up evap not working The repair went well. Never made this type of repair before. Took me around 90 minutes to complete. The worst part was winging it on how to disassemble the bottom drawers. On my Kenmore Elite, it has three freezer compartment sliding trays. The other difficult part for me was removing the clipped in part on the back of the freezer panel. Without knowing what to do it was a little frustrating. after getting to the evaporator unit, removing built-up ice and replacing the unit was fairly easy. The re-assembly went much faster than the disassembly. Overall it was well worth my effort. Mitchell F Alexandria , VA February 27, 2023 Bad evaporator fan motor in freezer. Overall this was a pretty simple repair as it was just a part swap. The biggest challenge was de-icing the evaporator and it being a bit cramped working in the freezer. The job started with removing the door and the drawers. Then snap off the two plastic covers and take out the 4 screws the back panel. Disconnect the motor wiring harness gl; and remove the motor housing (2 screws). Remove the old motor from the housing (you can reuse the fan and the rubber gasket). Replace with the new motor and wiring harness. Then reassemble in reverse order; install the motor housing and reconnect the harness. Replace back panel and covers. Re-insert drawers and connect the door. All told took me about 45 mins to complete. Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers
