R.w. % Richard S Milton , IA June 17, 2016 Appliance: Amana Refrigerator DRS2660BW Freezer not cold refrigerator not cold enough ice maker not working Unplug the fridge and slide it out from the wall. Remove the lower back cover. CLEAN EVERYTHING. We used compressed air, a vacuum, and a damp rag. The compressor was really hot because the unit was still limping along, so I set up a vortex fan to cool everything down. I removed the support wire, gently wiggled the capacitor off, then removed the relay. EASY! The overload relay was the problem. It rattled. I took it apart and found the insulator inside was shattered. It's hard to believe it was working at all. I plugged in the new one, and replaced the run capacitor at the same time (I could've returned the capacitor but chose to install it while I had everything apart, because the power overload had to arch to work and may have damaged it). The temp dropped immediately. The freezer started making ice about 3 hours later when the freezer settled at 0° - 5°. I could've gotten the parts locally but the wait time was 3 days longer and the cost was $40 higher. PS: I used standard shipping. My parts arrived in less than 24 hours. Don W Plymouth , MA October 24, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator PSD265LGES The compressor on our refrigerator stopped working without warning I opened up the back of the refrigerator to see what was going on and tapped on the compressor to see if it would run and the overload relay sparked telling me there was a problem with the relay. So I went on the internet and found AppliancePartsPros.com, saw it was a trusted site, looked up my model and ordered the overload relay along with a new run capacitor. (I figured it was a better option than just running out to buy a new refrigerator to my wife's dismay). The parts were shipped on Monday, came Fed Ex Tuesday! I connected the parts, plugged in the fridge and it working like new. Leighton P Pearl City , HI April 09, 2022 Appliance: Maytag Maytag Refrigeration PBB2253GEW-PPBB2253GW0 Overload relay and run capacitor. After watching the YouTube videos, I was skeptical about repairing it myself. But I went to our local appliance parts store and even the clerk told me overload relay is bad but they didn’t have it in stock. I called around town and had no luck. I went online and found AppliancePartsPros.com. I called to confirm that if I ordered the part, how fast could it get to me. The rep said at least 3 days. So I ordered/received the part, installed it right away, and let the refrigerator run overnight. I was thrilled by the next morning, our 20-year-old Maytag Refrigerator is up and running. I’m ordering from this place from now on. I give this place a 5 stars. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers, Socket Set
