Andrew W Union City , CA April 03, 2015 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator WRT3L1SZYW00 Cracked leaked drain pan I took all the food out of the fridge, and tilted the refrigerator 30degrees to the left (if looking straight at the fridge). I unscrewed the cardboard backing, and moved the drip tube from the drain pan. I unscrewed the 4 screws for the drain pan, and the 2 hex screws holding up the metal plate on the left side (becuase there is a lip on the metal plate that holds the pan in). Then I could slightly pull down on the metal plate and pull the drain pan out. Then popped the new drain pan in. Scott T Muskegon , MI June 27, 2017 Appliance: Model WHIRLPOOL WRT311SFYT Cracked drain pan The rear wheels of the fridge are poorly designed and pop up out of place into the pan when moving the fridge and eventually cracked the pan. As others have stated, you need to prop the fridge up with at least a 4x4 on front and back. I was able to do this without emptying the fridge. Be sure to not put the 4x4 under the right front corner as it will rest on the pan and you won't be able to remove the pan. I'm not sure it makes it any easier to remove the two screws in the back corner as one suggested, but I had already done that when I removed the pan. I was able to slide the fan in the back out of the way and pull the pan out the back and slide the new pan in place the same way. Took probably an hour or so because the screws are difficult to get to with the fridge propped up and having to slide between the fridge and the counter to get to the rear of it. If I had to do it again it would take much less time. Read More... 11 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Screwdrivers, Socket Set
