Eric A Canton , MA December 16, 2017 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator ET8CHMXKT03 Compressor not running. My freezer and fridge were blowing warm and all my food in there was garbage... Lights and fans all working. Looked up some YouTube videos on what it could be. Bad compressor least likely culprit even though it wasn't running. It wasn't doing that "click whirr" thing if it were trying to start. It just flat out wasn't running. So, check the overload and relay that attach right on the side of the compressor. I did, and I shook them. They jingled like loose change=BAD. Ordered new ones and installed them. 30 minutes later, I HAD COLD AIR! $60 in parts and 15 minutes of my time vs. $550 for a new fridge (or just as bad for a repairman)? SOLD! Roger B Holland , MI November 20, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator ET8CHMXKQ03 Refrigerator freezer fan and lights were working but the freezer and refrigerator were room temp. I used the internet to get an idea of what could be wrong and then picked the most likely part that would be causing the issue. I order a new start relay and surge protector. I received the part in less than 24 hours and installed then in about 10 minutes. Everything works great! Rudy K Miami , FL July 11, 2014 Appliance: Model 2003 KENMORE REFRIGERATOR NO MODEL NUMBER FOUND The kenmore refrigerator stopped cooling completely Checks disclosed that the run relay on the Kenmore refrigerator purchased in 2003 was inoperative.Visited the SEARS maintenance outlet but they could not identify on their computer the part which I physically took to them. I should add that nowhere on the refrigerator could we find the model number, and I assure you we did check the unit completely. Took the information off the compressor but the people at SEARS said it was not helpful. Perused the internet and found APPLIANCE PARTS PROS,and under Kenmore parts heading found that they had the run relay.Immediately placed a phone call, the people were very courteous and had them ship next day delivery.....inserted the new run relay and the refrigerator is working again.I also must add that the photo of the run relay in the Appliance Parts Pros listing was very helpful in identifytin the required part. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, Rudy King Miami Florida. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Pliers
