Emanuel C Land O Lakes , FL January 14, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator MFI2569YEM0 Water dispenser with slow flow of water and making loud hissing sound in maytag fridge Almost ordered solenoid valve but realize ice maker was working ok and water dispenser worked good for the first 1-2 seconds. Read online forums and found some posting about replacement of filter head w/ reservoir tha ressembled the problem I was having. Ordered filter head and got part within 2 day (even with ground shipping request). Took about an hour to carefully figure out how to remove covers and install part. An easy way to determine if solenoid is ok is removing filter and installing filter bypass cap (included with new filter head). You may want to do that before removing any covers in case your problem is something else. Repair was a success. Paul C Riverview , FL May 26, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator GI5FSAXVY04 Low water pressure from water dispenser following filter change Every six months I change my refrigerator filter. I purchased a new filter (UKF8001) and installed it just like I've done many times before. This time, when I first used the water dispenser, I got a horrible sound (kind of like a jack hammer/vibration) followed by very little water flow. I disconnected the new filter and reinstalled the old filter, thinking maybe I got a bad filter. No improvement. I removed the filter and put the bypass cap on and everything returned to normal. Since everything went back to normal following bypass cap installation, I figured I must have a bad water filter head. I ordered the part, swapped it out and everything is back to normal.
