Jeff L Neshkoro , WI May 21, 2019 Appliance: Model MAYTAG MODEL DG 410 Idler pulley noise. Ordered parts for a 25 year old Maytag gas dryer..no problem in getting parts,.the web site for parts are great It cross references to other parts so you can order the parts. or suggestion on what you may need to do..I didn't have to take the dryer totally apart from the front..as if you would repair the drum roller for which I did a few time ..just pull out dryer from wall disconnect the gas and power suppley..open the small 8 x8 panal on backside where the motor is located , take old parts out replace will new parts down. reconnect everything..Than done ..It took me 20 to 25 minutes to do the job..My skill level is very good. If I would get a repairs person to do it. I would have to take the dryer to than and the cost would be over $200. Besides if you have anything that more than10 years old no one will repair it. So I save over $!00.. By doing it myself Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers, Socket Set
Thomas T Conneaut , OH February 03, 2025 Appliance: Maytag Gas Dryer LDG19CS Sounded like a pair of shoes bouncing around in the drum This dryer is roughly 40 years old and started life as a coin operated dryer. I got it in 2001 and have not had to do anything till this month. These parts were not the problem but I changed them. The idler arm sleeve was a little thick. I sanded it down thinner. The idler pulley arm I bought to check sizes or holes. To check for wear. There wasn't any.The belt I changed as it was just starting to fray. The blower fan was making most if not all the noise. It was cracked and the hole in the middle was worn oblong an made it wobble a bit. Read More...
