Ralph O Rio Rancho , NM December 14, 2021 Dryer was making a loud thumping sound. I tried to hire someone through Home Advisor and was given an initial estimate of 436.00!?! However, no one ever contacted me about repairing the dryer. The washer and dryer are about 12 or 13 years old, so me and the wife discussed going to look at the alternative.... Buying a new washer and dryer set. We had planned on going on Dec 10th. I then decided to do some research on YouTube on Dec 8th for dryer repair and came across a video that was made by AppliancePartsPros.com. The video covered my exact dryer model! I then watched the video on how to disassemble the dryer, hoping I could find the problem. The video made it very easy to take the dryer apart. After removing the drum, I found that the rear drum seal came loose and was shredded by the rear drum support rollers. The Idler pulley wheel, as well as the drive belt, were worn out. I am a DIYer and knew that I could fix it. I placed the order for the parts, which came out to about $190.00, on Dec 8th, and in about an hour, I got an email that said the parts had been shipped that same day!!! The parts arrived Dec 10th and within 2 hours, I repaired the dryer following all the videos related to each individual part. My wife was thrilled and we saved anywhere between $1800 to $2000 on a new washer and dryer set!! I then realized that I had already used APP before to repair my Samsung fridge ice maker, that job also being very easy! The videos make it easy to understand and I will use AppliancePartsPros.com again in the future, should I need to repair something else before I buy new. Robert H Des Plaines , IL October 15, 2017 Appliance: Whirlpool Gas Dryer WGD6400SW2 Dryer drum was not turning The Pulley roller was locked up and the belt was worn. While I had it apart I replaced the 4 drum rollers as well as the 2 Drum seals. Everything went well though the Drum Seals were a little difficult to put on. Needed 4 hands! NOTE - WHEN PUTTING THE SCREWS BACK IN THE TOP TO HOLD THE LINT TRAP ROLL UP A RAG AND PLACE IT IN THE OPENING! This will avoid many bad words once you drop one down the lint trap opening. Steve E Rochester Hills , MI January 03, 2019 Appliance: Model WTW6500WW1 AND WGD8200YW2 Noisy bearings coming from the washing machine excessive dry times with the dryer Washing machine should have been an easy fix that I had done before but ran into problems with the upper bearing and the bearing diameter on the shaft (a no go situation). By the time I was able to get the bearing seated I had damaged the new bearing. Much to my surprise Cierra in customer service sent me out a new bearing kit. I was then able to get the washer up and running with the new bearing kit and motor stator replacement. The dryer was a matter of replacing all of the electrical components inside of the cabinet along with the moisture sensors in the in the lint housing. The drum rollers and felt drum seals were changed as well. Now all dry times are within minutes of what is on the timer without any reruns. Repair Videos are a Great Repair Tool very well done.
