Very loud squeak inside whirlpool duet sport dryer model wed8300sw0 Steve W. • Boone , NC • September 27, 2014
Our Whirlpool Duet Sport Dryer, 6.7 cu. ft, Model WED8300SW0, bought new 8 years ago (2006), developed a VERY loud squeaking noise inside the dryer. Removing the top panel did not isolate the problem. I researched the problem and through the videos appearing on Appliance Parts Pros (APP) website and a few others, determined that the problem was either the drum belt, one or more of the 4 drum support rollers, or idler pulley or any combination of these. I ordered the kit to allow for...

I am not an electrician, just a housewife with limited funds and a desire to DIY. I used the provided videos for knowing how to replace everything except the heating element which I just guessed based on other reviews and seeing how the other parts worked. Our dryer is 11 years old Whirlpool Gold HE and I have only ever cleaned the lint tray. My husband replaced the belt about five years ago and he did clean out the inside of the dryer.

No heat Dan R. • Woodruff , SC • November 30, 2018
First ran the built-in diagnostic tests. Got error code indicating that the inlet thermistor was open. Removed lower access panel and did continuity checks on the inlet thermistor, thermal cutoff and heating element. Even doing these checks is very difficult on this model due to the location of these parts and the limited access through the so-called access panel. But was able to get an open reading on the heating element, so I knew that at least that part was faulty. Could not get a reliable...

The dryer drum would barely turn. James R. • Minden , NV • December 09, 2022
I watched videos on the disassembly of my dryer model, and got the model number hiding on the upper dryer door jamb. After calling AppliancePartsPros.com for help, then ordered parts with the help of APP. It took almost a full day to disassemble the dryer I have, as it is a little more complicated than some models, and I went very slowly on purpose to not lose screws, or break plastic parts.
Getting the wiring harness apart was the hardest thing to do, as the screwdriver shown in the video...

Electric dryer ceased to produce heat Glenn M. • South Windsor , CT • September 23, 2016
Our 25-year-old Whirlpool dryer abruptly stopped producing heat, though it was otherwise running normally. The unit had never required service of any type and we were reluctant to replace it. After confirming that no circuit breakers had tripped, I reviewed the Whirlpool and AppliancePartsPro websites and concluded that the most likely causes of the problem were a failed heating element and/or thermal fuse. I ordered both (they arrived in two business days), installed them and the dryer...

My whirlpool duet dryer started to squeal and rumble when the dryer was on Diana K. • Phoenix , AZ • September 20, 2014
I did a little research and found out that the dryer drum rollers needed to be replaced. I decided that since I would be replacing the 4 drum rollers that I should replace the belt and the belt drive pulley. This was a simple project thanks to YouTube. I used one of appliancepartspor videos to st me through the repair. Now I have a dryer that does not squeal like a pig!

Dryer was making a loud thumping sound. Ralph O. • Rio Rancho , NM • December 14, 2021
I tried to hire someone through Home Advisor and was given an initial estimate of 436.00!?! However, no one ever contacted me about repairing the dryer. The washer and dryer are about 12 or 13 years old, so me and the wife discussed going to look at the alternative.... Buying a new washer and dryer set. We had planned on going on Dec 10th. I then decided to do some research on YouTube on Dec 8th for dryer repair and came across a video that was made by AppliancePartsPros.com. The video covered...

Dryer lint filter was so jammed with lint that it might have started a fire! Judith S. • Port St. Lucie , FL • April 03, 2015
My fiance was involved in a very nasty divorce where a very biased female judge forced him from his home for 14 months before he could take up residency again. He brought me back with him and I witnessed the grotesque damages she intentionally inflicted on his property. His washer and dryer are very expensive and high-end, as is the home and all his contents. One of the many damages she caused was that she had not cleaned the dryer lint filter in 14 months and the lint was a thick carpet which...

Start button was broke off in the gray part of the control board on our whirlpool cabrio dryer Curtis S. • Gregory , SD • January 06, 2015
There is a video on youtube that talks about how to disassemble the electronic component out of the control board so I really won't go into that part of it. This disassembly of the control board will need to take place before you can even get started taking the gray piece out of the console to replace it. Be careful not break off the little tips behind the control knob, don't force it, it does come apart easily and there is an easy way to do it, that is also on youtube.
This is where the...

Squeaky noise and not fully drying David H. • Santa Clarita , CA • September 20, 2019
Originally the dryer was squeaking a lot, so I purchased a new belt tensioner, but the original tensioner was an old-style no wheel tensioner, so that wasn't the source of the squeaking.
I saw a lot of lint had built up inside the unit where there shouldn't have been that much. So I viewed a few videos on the Appliance Pros site and saw that the rear wheel guides were the cause of the squeaking and the rear felt drum and blower housing seal needed to be replaced. The rear blower housing was...

Took to long to dry John R. • Delphi , IN • January 02, 2015
After reading the reviews of others, I ordered and replaced the heating element, thermostat, cut-off & the moisture sensor bars. It was a success!
The element was definitely bad on one end, the wire was burnt in two pieces. Now it doesn't take 3 hours to dry a load! Well worth the money I spent. Easy to fix & do it yourself. I watched the video before buying the parts just to make sure that it was something I wanted to tackle. Very easy with the video. Great job Appliance Pro's!

Very loud and squeaky Michael M. • Chesapeake , VA • April 09, 2018
Replaced the Rollers, Pins, belt and belt tensioner. One thing to keep in mind. In the video it was said that the back and front roller pins were different by lengths. They were the same length for my model. The differences were found to be the rear pins have left handed threads and the front ones were standard right hand threads. Keep that in-mind when you are trying to remove them.
