Jerry H Wernersville , PA January 02, 2015 Found piece on floor and wife comments on falling door My wife called my attention to the fact that the dishwasher door was falling open to easily. This seemed to coincide with her finding a rubber part laying on the kitchen floor. Investigation on Appliance Parts Pros confirmed that this rubber pad was indeed part of the door friction function, and that I had two such pads on my machine. Based on the installation video it seemed expedient to replace both pads at the same time. After all whatever caused on pad to fail could cause the other one to fail as well. I ordered the parts and received them within two days, despite the Christmas mail rush. They went on just as the video showed and now my dishwasher door opens slowly and smoothly and my wife is happy too. Seems like a great Christmas present for me. Thanks Pros. Cyntha C Yucaipa , CA October 21, 2015 Appliance: Model KENMORE Dishwasher door falls open This is our second go around with this particular problem so it was an easy diagnosis and fix. The first time, a year or so ago, I found an odd looking black rubber (?) fat washer-like piece on the floor. Mysterious. I didn't think too much about it because it wasn't until I found another one a few weeks later that the dishwasher door would not stay ajar. Fell open all the time unless latched closed. Went to the Internet and described the problem and that took me to a AppliancePartsPros video which not only explained exactly what had happened (right down to finding the little pads on the floor!!), but what parts to order and how to replace them. We ordered the parts, got them in lightening fast time, and watched the video again. So easy even an old couple (nearly 80) like me and my beloved can do it. Hardest part was pulling out the dishwasher! Read More... 20 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
