Daryl B Gloucester , VA August 12, 2021 Appliance: Maytag 30" Electric Ceran Freestanding Range Self Clean Conve MER7662WQ1 Burners were working correctly most of the time but would stay in the on position (high )periodically and would not shut off automatically for the temperature you set the burner for Replaced the burner Infinite switches for the burners having the issue. Here are the latest part numbers for this model Maytag. Left rear (LR) and right rear (RR) burners are both 6" and use the same switch. Part # WP3149404. Left front (LF) is an 11 1/2" burner Part# W10167742. The right front (RF) burner is a double burner 6" center and 9 1/2" outside burner Part #WPW10149355. Very simple repair. Unplug the stove, remove the rear panel, remove the switch knob, remove the 2 switch screws, unplug the 2 wire connectors. The 2 wire connectors were pretty tight so I just used a small flat-tipped screwdriver to gently pry each corner of the connector until it popped loose. Reverse procedures. The only snafu was the switch for the 6" burners #WP3149404 have an extra long switch shaft to accommodate other model stoves that must be snapped off to shorten the length so that the knob will fit as it should. Simply remove the little black clip, hold the switch shaft with a pair of needle-nose pliers as close to the switch as possible, take a pair of regular pliers, and remove the outer end section by wiggling it back and forth until it snaps off. Reinstall the black clip in the rearmost groove and install the knob. I did this with the switch installed and it was really simple. There are no included instructions to tell you this so I was thinking I got the wrong switch, not the case. I called Appliance Parts Pro and they said that there is a video online that shows how to do this. For some, just looking at it you can figure it out. This procedure for snapping off the switch shaft applies to my model Maytag but may not apply to other models or brands. Check your original switch shaft length before you go through this procedure. Margaret W King Of Prussia , PA November 08, 2019 Appliance: Whirlpool Electric Range WFE366LVS0 One of the switches was making a sparking noise while using that electric burner and oven temp was too hot These were very easy to do. I watched the two videos on how to replace the switch and the oven temp sensor and it went exactly as indicated. Very easy to do, unscrew the back panel on the oven, remove the knob, unscrew the switch and unplug wire connectors from the bad switch, plug wire connectors into the new switch and screw switch in; same for the oven sensor (even easier) and replace the back panel. Everything works great and took like 20 minutes. Only needed a Phillips head screwdriver. Saved me like $350 by buying the parts and installing it myself. Don't be afraid, it was easy. Read More... Ben K Jupiter , FL July 20, 2014 Burner on my whirlpool glass top stove stayed on high it would not adjust the temperature i blamed my wife for burning the food but she was quick to show me that the stove was at fault I got on appliancepartspros.com website and searched my stove model. The awesome exploded view pictorials they provided on the website made it super easy to pick the part i needed . The order process went very smooth and i received my part within a couple days. The website also was perfect in providing a very helpful video of how to remove the panels to gain access to the switch. After gaining access to the switch i noticed that it had large dark burn marks inside of it. I replaced it with the new one and no more burned food thanks to appliancepartspros! Thanks for providing a great site to purchase appliance parts. This is the third time i used the site to purchase appliance parts and each time was great. Read More...
