Sanford H Aurora , CO October 03, 2015 Appliance: Model WHIRL POOL MOD. TES325KQ An 8 inch range element wouldn't heat The present element resistance was 23 ohms. The tech suggested I replace it with a factory part number.I did..No change. The original element had an internal high resistance short to the outer frame. This caused the infinity switch to fail. I replaced the element and the infinity switch which solved the problem. Once I discovered the problem and had the new parts in hand; the repaid took15 minutes to fix. It only took about five hour to discover the real problem. In over 60 years of repairing appliances; I have never seen this kind of an internal failure of an element. Found that two infinite control switches were defective. One for the 3500W burner and one for the 2000W burner. Replaced both switches and now both burners regulate very linearly. Read More...
