Maurizio H Cuyahoga Falls , OH May 21, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool 30`` Slide-In Electric Range GY399LXUQ05 Some of the buttons on the oven control touch pad didn't work The instructions I read said to remove the stove control knobs, remove the screws under them and lift of the control cover. It didn't work that way. In fact you don't even need to remove the screws under the knobs. That panel is screwed in from all sides. I had to slide the stove out so I could reach the sides of the front panel. I removed 4 screws from the bottom (with the over door open), and 2 screws on the sides of the panel (be careful because the whole panel comes out, you have to hold it). I rested the panel on the partially open oven door. I unplugged the 2 connecting set of wires from the membrane to the main control unit (I used needle nose pliers to hold the tabs and pulled the wires off). With a butter knife I pried the membrane off the front of the panel (it's just stuck on there with adhesive) and removed it. I fished the connectors from the new membrane through the hole and attached them to the main control unit. You can do this by hand. I peeled off the backing of the membrane and attached it to the panel like the old one ( make sure you line it up so it fits exactly). Some of the stove control pins may slide out during this process (if you removed the screws holding them in place), make sure you place them back through the holes before putting the front panel back on. Put the side screws in place first, then the bottom screws. If you removed the stove control pin screws you'll need to wiggle the pin to line up the holes for the screws. Slide the stove back in place. Read More... 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
Charlene E Daytona Beach , FL November 19, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Slide-In Electric Range GY399LXUQ04 The controls on my range stopped working one by one until all i could do was "broil" and "cancel" The control panel is just a thin film which is pasted in place. I can be pulp rather easily, but you have to remove the entire panel to get to the connectors. This is not difficult. Just pull the stove out about 3-4 inches to access two screws, on either side of the panel, (philips). Then open the oven door to access 4 additional screws under the panel. Remove those screws and you will now be able to pull the panel away from the stove and access the connectors. DONE! make sure when ordering to order the right color, (back or white) for your stove. (note: You need another person to hold the panel once the screws are out) Read More... 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers

They identified the part in seconds, quoted me a price and a delivery date, and led me to a video of how to open up the range and remove the connections. Until manufacturers return to building stuff that lasts, you gotta know AppliancePros I paid them and it was delivered exactly as promised. A friend and I pulled the control panel off, pulled the failed part and clicked in the connectors. The we stripped off the protective film, and attached the switchpad to the glass mounting ares 20 minutes start to finish Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
