Whirlpool WP22003499 Timer (Washer) OEM Part

I replaced the main timer module. I went to the Maytag website, got the part number, then shopped around. I saved about $25 by ordering the same part from Appliance Parts Pros and the part arrive in 2 days! All went better than expected and our washer is working well again.

Looked up timer part on line using washer model number and part number, watched videos that showed it looked doable and ordered the part. Also read several narratives written by customers on how they put the part in. Part came on the second day and I installed it after watching the video a second time. Washer is 14 years old. Used a C-Clamp (not shown in video) to gradually squeeze the wiring harness into the stabs so it clicked in place. Timer is made in USA and functions great. The repair was easy because the videos and narratives are available on line.

Replaced the timer.

Got timer from appliance parts pros. watched video on repair. new timer was broken in shipment. appliance pros sent new part in 2 days. repair went well. timer repair was not exactly as shown in video but was able to figure out the difference after watching video. new timer works well.

After checking this website and some forums, AND my dad telling me that if the pump is draining when I try to force a rinse/spin then it's not the pump, I purchased the timer. I have a 15 year old Maytag Atlantis, and while the control panel was slightly more difficult to get out than the video showed, it wasn't too terrible. My dad did have to come in to help when I saw the timer and it had what looked like a computer board attached to the outside, even that though turned out to be no big deal. In less than 10 minutes we had the part replaced and I had the control panel back into place. The video shown on the product page was very helpful giving me the basic knowledge I needed (and the confidence) to replace the part, if my dad hadn't happened to be over I would have been able to do it all myself, it just would have taken a little longer. I also googled videos on taking apart my specific washer and that was also very helpful (having my tablet right there in the laundry room while I did the job). My washer works great now! I'm glad I decided to try to do it myself rather than hire a repair person for such a simple fix. And my dad took the old timer apart and sure enough there were some burned bits on the inside, one or two of the mechanism parts were not able to read the cogs to switch the cycle.
